We had the pleasure to attend a wedding in Cannon Beach, OR this past weekend. It was dumping rain the entire 4 1/2 hour drive over.  I was praying the clouds would part and the sun would shine on this beautiful couple for at least the 45 minutes they needed to execute the ceremony. Well, the Lord parted the skies and the sun shined on us, on the beautiful beach, while our friends said ‘I do!’ It was awesome!

Now, remember the whole, it was raining the entire drive down to the Oregon. Well, I thought I would bring a ‘not so traditional’ beach dress, but this long sleeve number. The color was bright, I loved the subtle ‘v’ in the back, and since the temps were in the mid to high 50’s, I thought the long sleeves were a bonus! Even though the sun came out, it was chilly on the beach and at the reception, it started to rain again and got pretty cold. So overall, this dress was the epitome of perfect for this gorgeous destination wedding.

If you have a beach wedding to attend this summer and you don’t want to shlep around a shawl or sweater, try wearing a long sleeve dress.  It is so easy to dress it up with some jewelry and cute shoes. And let’s be real, when you go to a beach wedding, you take your shoes off, so the shoes don’t even matter.

What is your favorite dress to wear to a beach wedding?
