This month, we’ve had some gorgeous days but also our fair share of dreary ones. Here in Seattle, when it’s rainy and chilly in the month of June, we call it ‘June-uary’. And this past week has definitely felt that way. It’s always so hard to go from 85 degrees and sunny to 55 degrees, cloudy, and rainy. But it does give us the opportunity to wear some fun pieces that you wouldn’t normally wear when it’s 80 degrees out.
I’ve partnered with Light and Bright Lifestyles to showcase some great summer accessories from jewelry to scarves. This scarf has become my absolute FAVORITE! It’s 70% linen and 30% silk. It feels like I’m wearing a cloud, it’s super comfortable, and easy to wear. It’s not just perfect for Seattle’s ‘June-uary’ but definitely a must-have for summer vacations. I can see this scarf being perfect to throw on at an evening dinner on the beach, a luau with your family, or on the lake on a windy day. For those of us who aren’t going on trips this summer, this scarf is also a great accessory to add to your office style. I don’t know about you, but my office’s AC is always cranked up so I’m always freezing!
In this post, I’ve showcased 3 ways you can wear this gorgeous blush scarf throughout the summer.
- Wear it Like a Blanket. When its chilly at night and you’re relaxing by the camp fire or on a beach somewhere, you can wrap this scarf around your shoulders like a blanket to stay warm. It’s elegant, soft, and just the right material for a summer evening.
- The Modern Marilyn Monroe Style. When I think of Marilyn Monroe, I envision the gorgeous scarves she’d wear around her head that would tie around her neck. It was so chic, so glamorous, and so Marilyn Monroe. And let’s be honest, if you like that look, wear it girlfriend! When I talk about the Modern Marilyn Monroe style, I’m visualizing the scarf draped around your neck, with both ends hanging by your side. Then grab one side of the scarf and throw it over your shoulder to add a dramatic vibe. Add some sunglasses and a fun lip and you’ve pulled this modern look off!
- The Loop Look. For an effortless look, I always default to what I call, the Loop Look. If it’s chilly at your work and you just want to feel cozy, I always choose this method. Drape the scarf around your neck, grab one side and wrap it all the way around your neck. Grab that end of the scarf that you just wrapped around your neck and pull it down while loosening the other side of the scarf until both ends of the scarf are at the same length. This is my go-to method of tying my scarves. It’s not only cozy but the scarf doesn’t get in the way of your day-to-day activities.
