Sun, Sand, and Crop Tops…

Happy Monday everyone! Chuck and I are in Mexico this week enjoying some time away.  The sun is hot, the beach is beautiful, and my favorite drink has become the dirty monkey – it’s blended pina colada mix with coffee liquor and a banana. One word…amazing!

Last night, we went out to dinner at Cilantros restaurant at the neighboring hotel.  We all tried the Mexican coffee, which was very tasty, but the best part was how they prepared it. If you haven’t seen how it’s made, you must come to Mexico and try it.  All I’ll tell you is that there is fire involved.

The restaurant is positioned right on the beach overlooking the beautiful ocean and rock.  In the evenings the temperatures go down to the 60’s, it’s windy since we are right along the beach, and we’re all a little sunburned which makes you feel even more cold. This makes picking an outfit tough.  Below is what I chose last night. What do you think?

I decided to pair my long white skirt with a fitting crop top and some heels.  When you’re petite like me, and wearing a long skirt like this, I’ve found that a fitting shirt will (1) accentuate your waist (2) not look overwhelming on your small frame; and (3) show off your tan well.  I also paired this outfit with a jean jacket from Nordstrom when the wind was picking up and temps were dropping.

If you are planning a sunny vacation soon, this skirt is an essential.  It looks classy, keeps your legs warm at night, and can be paired with so many great tops and heels. A must-have for spring and summer!
