I hope you are having a great week so far! Only a few days until the weekend.
I don’t know about you but I am getting so excited for fall! The weather, the fashion, the decor, and that Christmas time is just shy of 4 months away – all of it makes me so happy! This week it is definitely feeling like fall. Saturday we had a huge wind storm and it’s been dumping rain ever since. I love it! (weird? I know. I’m feeling like a Seattleite)
As you can tell, this day was gloomy so I paired a simple, long sleeve shirt from J.Crew with my favorite ripped denim and my Louboutin pumps. I threw my hair in a bun and was good to go.
However, there is more to this photo than you can see here – let’s rewind to a few weeks ago…
Chuck always orders stuff for our house on Amazon. It could be the largest item or the smallest and he orders it on Amazon. A few weeks ago I told Chuck, ‘Gosh, I wish I got packages delivered to me!’ But I rarely shop online. I’m a mall girl! So nothing ever gets delivered to me.
Fast forward 2 weeks to last Tuesday. I got home from work late, around 6:30, and the minute I walked in the door Chuck asked me if he could show me something in our front yard. I said, yes, and walked towards the front door. As he opened the door, I noticed we had a package on our doorstep. I got excited (like I always do!) and picked it up. It was sent to me! Yes! Me. But wait, I didn’t order anything (I thought!). It was from Nieman Marcus. Now, I love shopping, but I don’t normally shop at Nieman Marcus…I mean, I’d love to but let’s be real here. So I run inside, super enthusiastic and excited for what could be inside and when I opened that box I saw the Christian Louboutin brand pop and I died. Yep. I died, standing at my kitchen counter. I was completely shocked because I’d really wanted them but never thought I’d ever buy them! Well, leave it to the husband to do it for you! Chuck said he had ordered them a week prior and made sure they had my name on the box when they delivered it. He simply wanted to surprise me with something I never thought I’d get. The fact of the matter is it’s not about what he got me, it’s the way he did it and the thought. He took the time to think of a sweet way to present this to me and that means the world to me. So, the Husband of the Year Award goes to Mr. Chuck Husum! Thank you, my love.
If you haven’t noticed already, I love surprises. Do you?
I challenge you to go to the store and grab a bouquet of flowers for your bestie or grab a bottle of scotch for your hubby or boyfriend and go surprise them. It’s Wednesday and no one is going to expect it. Those are the best surprises and the best gifts.
Enjoy the rest of your week and get ready for my Career post on Friday. It’s all about your Brand!
