Happy Tuesday! I hope everyone’s week is off to a great start.
I am super excited to announce a three part Career series that will be up on the blog starting this week! The goal of this series is to offer you a few tips to successfully find a new job when that time comes in your career. Each post will focus on one characteristic that can help you with finding the next best job.
Here’s a little taste of what you’ll see. I hope you enjoy!
What to Wear to an Interview.
I don’t know about you, but for the longest time I always thought you had to wear the typical black pants and white button up top, which we all know is….boring. Plus, that’s just not my style. I like bright colors, jewelry, lipstick, and all that fun stuff!
One thing I have learned over the years is that you can still be professional by being YOU. And this starts with what you wear to work. That’s the first thing everyone sees.
Here is one tip + an outfit I put together that I hope helps you when preparing your next interview outfit:
You are YOU. When you wear an outfit to an interview that isn’t the same old boring look that everyone wears, it shows your interviewer that you are put together and wear what makes you, YOU! You’re not afraid to stand out a bit and take a risk by wearing a hot pink purse while remaining professional. Employers want their employees to be confident in themselves and your dress/style is one of the best ways to show it.
Here is one interview look I put together that adds a pop of color while remaining professional.
I’ve put together these simple black pants/capris, a blue button up, and a khaki colored blazer (see pic of model with blue shirt/khaki blazer). Add a delicate necklace to it and a statement bag and you’re good to go! I threw in some low heels but black flats always work too! If you don’t plan to wear a clutch and need a bigger bag to throw your stuff in, check out the blush pink tote (under $50!). They have other colors too but this pink is so in right now.
