4 Fall Denim Options for Under $50!…

Shoes: Lucky Brand ($100!) • Denim: Express (40% off!) • Top: Nordstrom • Watch: Michele • Cuff: David Yurman • Ring: David Yurman • Necklace: Stella and Dot • Earrings: Stella and Dot • Lipstick: Le Rouge by YSL • Clutch: Clare V

Last weekend, Chuck and I were running a few errands and stopped at the mall. We had to make a pit stop at the Verizon store (his phone wasn’t working properly). So while they were helping him with his phone, I popped on over to Express to see if there was anything I had to have. Originally, we were planning to head to Nordstrom to buy some new denim for both of us – but let’s be honest, we really were only going to buy one new pair for each of us because we all know Rag and Bone, Paige, AG, etc are so dang expensive. I mean, don’t get me wrong, they are great – just pricey.

As I was browsing Express, I saw a table full of denim – they had long and short lengths too – so I thought, why not. I’ll tray a few pairs on. So I end up finding 4 pairs I loved but given they were $80 each, I picked two. I got to the register and the gal was like, ‘All denim is 40% off so these are $47 each – do you want to buy a few more?’ Ummm…yes! She didn’t have to twist my arm. I added those other 2 pairs I loved and boom – 4 pairs of denim for $190! I mean – really? You can’t beat that.

I’ve worn all the denim and I am loving them. I ended up with a variety of denim – one high waisted, boyfriend cut, a pair of gray skinnies, the ones above, and a pair of lighter denim skinnies – and I’m in love. All of them fit so well and add so many more options to my wardrobe.

Since I have been loving them so much, I wanted to share the 4 different types with you and what I’ve been pairing them with.

  1. Gray Mid-Rise Stretch Denim. These are the perfect gray color and fit like a glove. I wore them last week to 2 presentations I had to give at the Westin in Bellevue. I paired them with a black and white striped shirt, a black blazer, and a pair of pumps. I loved how I could dress them up for a presentation for work.
  2. Mid-Rise Dark Wash Distressed Denim. I’m wearing these in this post so you can see how they fit.  As a petite gal, the length is perfect – not too long or too short. I can easily tuck them into some booties, which I love. A lot of times, skinnies will bunch up at my ankles because they are too long – these fall just right.
  3. High Waisted Dark Wash Original Vintage Skinny Denim. These are probably my favorite ones. On me, they are a boyfriend fit (which is hard to find for petite gals!). The boyfriend fit look either looks too frumpy on me or is not proportionate. These are just the right amount of baggy and I roll them up at the bottom to give them that loose look.
  4. Mid-Rise Stretch Super Skinny Denim. These are perfect for work. They don’t have the distressed look and can be paired with a blazer, a sweater, boots, or pumps. These are seriously the easiest to pair with just about anything. And they can be pulled off as professional – win/win.
